PROFILE
Center for World Trade Studies Universitas Gadjah Mada (CWTS UGM) is a research center specializing in world trade within the political, legal, socio-cultural, and public policy aspects. CWTS UGM was established in 2008 by academics, policymakers, and trade practitioners in order to increase Indonesia's trade competitiveness in the global arena. To achieve this goal, CWTS UGM is committed to provide critical research on the dynamics of global trade and provide recommendations to policymakers, businesses, as well as communities in the trade sector. CWTS UGM has currently developed into a place for researchers from various disciplines to deliver research and publication activities, policy advocacy, and community development programs.

The Center for World Trade Studies Universitas Gadjah Mada commits to produce research on global trade to increase Indonesia’s competitiveness in the global arena.
Mission
- To become a research institution specializing in the dynamics of world trade and the World Trade Organization (WTO);
- To become an educational and consulting institution to improve Indonesia’s competitiveness;
- To facilitate the dissemination of knowledge and expertise to international trade enthusiasts and actors;
- To develop cooperation with the government and non-governmental institutions at the sub-national, national, and international levels.
