About Us

Center for World Trade Studies at Universitas Gadjah Mada (CWTS UGM) is an independent academic institution committed to the advancement of knowledge, policy, and practices in international trade that are fair, inclusive, and sustainable. Since its establishment in 2008, CWTS UGM has served as a collaborative space for academics, policymakers, business actors, and civil society to examine the dynamics of global trade through political, legal, economic, socio-cultural, and human development perspectives.

With the goal of enhancing Indonesia’s trade competitiveness in the global arena, CWTS UGM produces critical studies on world trade issues while formulating relevant policy recommendations for the government, the business sector, and the wider community. By integrating research and advocacy, CWTS UGM drives the transition toward a more equitable and sustainable global trade environment
